Year of Faith
On Sunday, October 15, 2011, Pope Benedict XVI issued a new Apostolic Letter in which he proclaimed the Year of Faith. The Year of Faith will begin on October 11, 2012 (the 50th anniversary of the opening of the Second Vatican Council) and it will end on November 24, 2013,the Solemnity of Our Lord Jesus Christ. The starting date of October 11 also marks the 20th anniversary of the publication of the Catechism of the Catholic Church a text promulgated by Blessed John Paul II with a view to illustrating for all the faithful the power and beauty of faith.
